Job Summary

The MFS Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement processes related to mobile financial services operations. The role focuses on sourcing vendors, managing supplier relationships, supporting procurement planning, ensuring cost efficiency, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. This position requires strong procurement expertise, vendor management skills, and experience supporting financial or telecommunications services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure suppliers are approved and listed in the organization’s supplier register before use.
  • Drive cost effective, efficient and compliant procurement process for all goods and services.
  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with Finance DOA thresholds and approval workflows.
  • Guide users in preparing CAPEX and OPEX submissions for Purchase or Investment Committees.
  • Monitor open purchase orders, maintain ageing status report and follow up to ensure timely closure.
  • Maintain proper filing, documentation and monthly ageing status tracking of all POs.
  • Provide regular updates to department heads on PO and contract status.
  • Support the preparation of monthly procurement activities and commitment reports.
  • Support with cost analysis, month end closing activities and audit preparation.
  • Ensure procurement records are accurate, organized and audit ready at all times.
  • Support compliance with procurement policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional procurement tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • University Degree in procurement management, accounting, finance or business administration
  • Minimum experience of 3 years in related field
  • Procurement Certification will be an added advantage

  • Analytical skills to assess costs, supplier performance and procurement risks.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination with finance, operations and vendors.
